Nuggets vs. Timberwolves score: Live updates, highlights from Game 6 as Denver

The Denver Nuggets, the league’s reigning champions, will look to close out the Minnesota Timberwolves when they meet for Game 6 of their second-round series in Minneapolis on Thursday night. After dropping the first two games in this series at home, the Nuggets are on a roll and have won three straight to take a commanding 3-2 series lead.

Nikola Jokic scored 40 points for Denver in its 112-97 win on Tuesday night to push the Timberwolves into an elimination game. The three-time MVP also tallied 13 assists and had no trouble consistently scoring over Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert.

The Timberwolves will have to find a way to slow Jokic and force a winner-take-all Game 7, which would be Sunday in Denver. A key factor could be the health of Timberwolves guard Mike Conley, who did not play on Tuesday because of soreness in his right Achilles tendon. Conley is expected to play in Game 6. Anthony Edwards is averaging 30.6 points per game in the playoffs to lead Minnesota.
