Mavericks vs. Thunder score: Luka Doncic shines in Game 5 win as Dallas retakes

The Dallas Mavericks got 31 points from Luka Doncic and picked up a crucial 104-92 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of their second-round playoff series on Wednesday night. The Mavericks now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and are one win away from their second trip to the Western Conference finals in three years.

Doncic had a triple-double for the second game in a row, but this was a much different story than his turnover-filled performance in a Game 4 loss. The Mavericks star, who has been dealing with multiple injuries, had his best game of the series. Doncic hit five 3-pointers and added 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The Mavericks — who have not lost back-to-back games in these playoffs — also got 19 points from Derrick Jones Jr., who was an efficient 7 of 9 from the floor.

The top-seeded Thunder got 30 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but no other player scored more than 13 points. OKC struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 25.0%. The Thunder will try to keep their season alive on the road in Game 6 on Saturday night.

CBS Sports will have more on this game soon.
