Celtics vs. Cavaliers score: Live updates, Game 5 highlights as Boston looks to

The top-seeded Boston Celtics can be the first team to punch their ticket to the next round of the NBA playoffs. They have opened a commanding 3-1 series lead and can close out the Cleveland Cavaliers with a win in Game 5 on Wednesday night at home.

The Cavs will be without star Donovan Mitchell (calf) for a second straight game. Caris LeVert (knee), who started in Mitchell’s place in Game 4, is also sidelined in Game 5 in another blow to Cleveland’s depth. Darius Garland will attempt to fill the scoring void as he did Monday when he finished with 30 points and seven assists in 40 minutes.

Boston’s Jayson Tatum had 33 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the Game 4 win. A victory Wednesday at TD Garden would advance the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals for the sixth time in the past eight years. However, Boston is .500 (14-14) in home playoff games over the past three seasons, so the Cavaliers are hoping to stretch the series and head back to Cleveland.
