Mavericks vs. Thunder score, highlights, takeaways: OKC surges late to even

Well folks, we have a series now. Despite multiple leads, the Mavericks were unable to put away the Thunder in Game 4, losing 100-96. The Thunder surged late behind an incredible Shai Gilgeous-Alexander performance, which saw him drop 34 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Chet Holmgren added 18 of his own along with nine rebounds and four blocks.

It was an inefficient night for Luka Doncic on the Dallas side. He scored 18 points on 6-of-20 shooting, including an abysmal 2-of-9 from 3. Kyrie Irving was also particularly quiet with just nine points, though he did have nine assists. The Mavs had 13 blocks as a team, but were marred by the turnover. Doncic alone had seven of them.

The series will now slide back to OKC for a pivotal Game 5, with both teams looking for whatever edge they can find.
